Arcadia Teen Arrested After Break-in

Police say the 18-year-old is not suspected in last week's "hot prowl" burglaries.

An Arcadia teen, who is suspected of breaking into a home on the 300 block of South Third Avenue, was charged with burglary and is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that arrested Warren Drakos, 18, on Saturday night near the vicinity of the break-in. Sgt. Tom Le Veque wrote about the arrest in a blog post on the police department's Web site.

A man and his son who live at the residence heard the garage door open about 11:45 p.m.

The pair investigated the disturbance and confronted a man standing inside the garage, Le Veque wrote, adding that the suspect ran away and the homeowner immediately called police.

Le Veque told Patch that Drakos is not a suspect in two burglaries that took place July 26 and 27. A "hot prowl burglary" is one in which a suspect breaks into a home occupied by residents.

Drakos does not fit witness descriptions of the burglar in those incidents , who used a different method of operation, Le Veque said.
