Bear Climbs Tree in Arcadia Neighborhood, Police Coax It Back into Forest

A bear that helped itself to some fruit at an Arcadia residence was coaxed back into the forest by police Wednesday morning.

Arcadia Police herded a bear back into the forest after it climbed a tree and  feasted on fruit in a residential hillside neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The bear scaled the tree in the 2200 block of Canyon Road at about 9:39 a.m. Police followed the bear and were able to get it to leave, Arcadia Police Lt. Tom Cullen said.

"They got it to go back into the woods," he said.
