Crime Blotter: Home Break-in, Missing Purse, Shoplifting Arrest

Significant property crime incidents from last week in Arcadia.

Sunday, September 1:

At approximately 5:45 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in regards to a theft report. After having dinner in the outdoor patio of Outback Steakhouse, 166 East Huntington Drive, the victim returned home without realizing she had left her purse at the table. The purse was not located and no one at the restaurant saw who took it.

At approximately 11:21 p.m., an officer responded to the 1500 block of South Cambury Road regarding an attempted residential burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) broke her kitchen window, but were unable to make entry. No evidence or witnesses were located. 

Saturday, September 7:

At approximately 7:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Sephora at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a theft report. A 23-year-old male concealed merchandise inside a purse and exited the store without making payment. He ran through the parking lot and was detained by officers on Huntington Drive. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
