A hiker reported missing Saturday was found Sunday evening in the San Gabriel Mountains above Azusa, a Los Angeles sheriff's sergeant said.
"The hiker found the road and the hiker and the searchers ran into each other," said Sgt. Rebecca Rodriquez in the San Dimas Sheriff's Station.
At about 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Danny Kim, 27, "walked up to one of our radio cars and he asked for a ride," Rodriquez said.
He was wearing only a light jacket, cargo pants and a T-shirt, on a very cold night. "He just hunkered down in the trees overnight and kept moving during the day," Rodriquez said.
He had minor cuts and scrapes and hypothermia and was airlifted to USC Medical Center for treatment, she said.
The Arcadia man became separated from his friends during a hike at 7 p.m. Saturday and the San Dimas Mountain Rescue and Sierra Madre Search and Rescue became involved in the search two hours later, Rodriquez said.
