Elderly Woman Critically Injured in Wednesday Accident

A woman in her 80s was injured when she was struck by a vehicle Oct. 16, police said.

The elderly woman received serious head trauma and was transported to an area hospital where she was reported in critical condition, said Lieutenant Mike Castro of Arcadia Police.

The collision happened shortly after 1 p.m. on Live Oak Avenue near Myrtus Avenue. The eastbound vehicle, driven by a 23-year-old man, struck the elderly woman. The investigation continues and it was not immediately known who appeared to be at fault, Castro said.
