The June 12-18 activity report for the Arcadia Fire Department.

The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of June 12 through June 18.  The following is a breakdown of incident types for this period:

Sunday, June 12

Traffic Collision Leads to Minor Injuries

At 1:55 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the intersection of West Live Oak Avenue and Halifax Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found one female patient suffering from minor injuries. The patient received basic life support at the scene and was placed in full spinal immobilization prior to transport to Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Monday, June 13

Firefighters Extinguish Small Fire on Fano

At 1:14 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, Battalion 105, and units from Monrovia Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 00 block of Fano Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel encountered light smoke coming from an upstairs unit. Fire personnel made entry through the front door and confirmed a small fire in the kitchen. After fire extinguishment and smoke removal, the scene was released to the resident.

Tuesday, June 14

Four Vehicle Collision on 210 Freeway

At 3:12 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Rescue Ambulance 106, Rescue Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to a traffic collision with injuries on the eastbound 210 freeway east of Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found four vehicles involved, with one on its side. Further investigation identified two female patients suffering from minor injuries. Both patients received basic life support at the scene. Both patients were placed in full spinal immobilization and transported to Arcadia Methodist Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Wednesday June 15

Firefighters Treat Man with Stroke Symptons

At 12:34 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 300 block of East Winnie Way.  Upon arrival, firefighters found an elderly patient with signs and symptoms of a stroke. Paramedics treated and transported the patient to an area hospital.

Thursday, June 16

Fallen Tree Branch Downs Power Line

At 8:55 a.m., Engine 106 responded to a report of power lines down in the 800 block of San Vicente Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered a tree branch had fallen and taken down a residential power line. Fire personnel secured the area and remained on scene until the power company arrived. Once the power company de-energized the power line, the scene was released to the power company and the homeowner.

Friday June 17

Paramedics Respond to Man Suffering from Chest Pain

At 9:02 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 700 block of Arcadia Ave.  Upon arrival, paramedics found an elderly male with suffering from chest pain.  The patient received advanced life support on scene, including drug therapy for pain.  Paramedics treated and transported the patient to a local hospital.

Saturday June 18


At 4:07 p.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105 and Battalion 105 responded .  Engine 106 arrived on scene and found two vehicle involved with no one trapped.  Truck 105 and Battalion 105 were canceled.  Paramedics treated and transported the pediatric patient to an area hospital.
