Fire Blotter: Appliance Fire, Medical Assists

A structure fire and downed cable line were just two of the incidents Arcadia firefighters responded to.

The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of July 24 through July 30. The following is a breakdown of incident types for this period:

July 24

At 8:03 a.m., Arcadia firefighters responded with Monrovia Fire units to an apartment fire in the 500 block of East Live Oak Avenue. The fire apparently stemmed from a small gas leak behind the stove. The flames had already been put out by the time firefighters arrived on scene. 

July 28

At 3:37 p.m., Truck 105 responded to the 200 block of Naomi Avenue for a reported downed power line. The power line turned out to be a cable line. Fire crews closed the street to traffic and secured the line. Firefighters then called the cable company to evaluate the situation.

July 29

At 8:21 a.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Engine 105, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, and Battalion 105, with units from the Monrovia Fire Department, responded to a structure fire in the 400 block of Catalpa Road. Firefighters discovered light smoke coming from the building. Firefighters determined the fire originated from a stovetop in the kitchen. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
