Fire Blotter: Bicyclist Transported to Trauma Center After Collision with Car

The crash happened near the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Santa Anita Terrace.

Sunday, July 28
At 9:44 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision involving an automobile and a bicycle in the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Santa Anita Terrace. Fire crews arrived on scene and found one male patient suffering from leg pain, abrasions, and neck pain after colliding with an automobile. Paramedics treated and transported the patient to the closest trauma center.

Monday, July 29
At 7:45 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from an allergic reaction with shortness of breath and hives. The patient received advanced life support at the scene, including oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, July 30
At 9:54 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical emergency in the 400 block of East Santa Clara Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a patient experiencing an irregular heart rhythm. Paramedics performed advanced life support measures; including cardiac monitoring, glucose monitoring and drug therapy. Paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Wednesday, July 31
At 4:39 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from an altered mental status. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, blood glucose monitoring, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Thursday, August 1
At 12:51 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical emergency in the 1500 block of Hyland Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find one male patient who was disoriented. Paramedics performed advanced life support measures; including cardiac monitoring, glucose monitoring and drug therapy. Paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Friday, August 2
At 2:10 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of Stanford Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was suffering from shortness of breath. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Saturday, August 3
At 2:10 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from general weakness and slurred speech. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
