Fire Blotter: Motorcycle Collison and House Fire
Arcadia firefighters responded to a motorcycle accident, a house fire, and 79 other incidents this week.
The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of Aug. 14-20. The following is a breakdown of incident types for this period:

Aug. 14: Crews from Engine 107, Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision on the 210 east involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The incident took place around 1 a.m. Fire crews found the driver of the motorcycle face down on the freeway, not breathing and without a pulse. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on-scene. They then transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Rescue Ambulance 105 treated and transported a second person for minor injuries.

Aug. 15:
Engines 105, 106, and 107, along with Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, Battalion 105 and a unit from the Pasadena Fire Department, responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Altura Road. Firefighters saw light smoke coming from the garage upon their arrival on scene at 11:11 a.m. The smoke came from an outside fire to the rear of the home, extending into the garage. The flames charred a small portion of the home before the homeowner controlled the fire with a garden hose. Fire crews fully extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Aug. 20:
Two young people suffered minor injuries in a traffic collision on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Huntington Drive. Engine 106, along with units responded to the two-vehicle collision at 1:08 p.m. Monrovia paramedics treated the injured parties for neck and back pain before transporting them to for further evaluation and treatment.
