Fire Blotter: Vehicle Fire

Fire Crews responded to a vehicle fire and a vegetation fire this week.

The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of Oct. 1-8. The following is a breakdown of incident types for this period:

Total Incident Count: 123

Oct. 2:

At 1:38 p.m., Engine 107 responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of North First Avenue and East Foothill Boulevard. Fire personnel found heavy smoke and fire coming from the engine and passenger compartments of the vehicle. Fire crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the vehicle. The vehicle sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire, which started in the engine compartment, remains unknown.

Oct. 3:

At 5:32 p.m., Engine 107, with units from Pasadena Fire Department, responded to a reported vegetation fire on the westbound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel found a small fire in the center median. Fire Crews used hand lines and hand tools to put the fire out.

Oct. 8:

At 11:12 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the 100 Block of East Huntington Drive. Fire personnel found one patient suffering from minor to moderate injuries. The patient received advanced life support at the scene, including full spinal immobilization, oxygen therapy and cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to for further evaluation and treatment.
