kept watch on a bear that made a visit to some homes in the northern portion of town Tuesday evening.
The bear was seen around 6:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of Highland Oaks Drive, police said. The creature sauntered its way around a few residences in the immediate area and officers followed along. Police summoned animal control to help deal with the creature.
The bear's stay was brief, however, as it eventually scampered off into the wilderness, police said.
