Grass Fire Ignites Near Arcadia Golf Course

Crews have small fire mostly extinguished, remain to tend to thick brush.

Fire crews remain on scene after a quarter-acre brush fire ignited near the and Peck Road Park, Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started just before 4 p.m. No structures were damaged in the fire, said officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was described as igniting near the Rio Hondo Bike Path near the reservoir, said Beth Stogner with the

Crews report no active flames at this time, but are continuing to work in the area to ensure no flare ups occur in the thick brush. The fire is about 60 percent contained, according to scanner reports. Crews will remain for about two more hours.

County fire fighters, as well as units from Arcadia and Monrovia, helped extinguish the vegetation fire, which was described as burning in heavy brush and trees, according to scanner reports.
