Man Fatally Injured After Jumping out of Car on 210 Freeway

A 39-year-old Azusa man jumped out of a car he was riding in on the 210 Freeway Saturday night, according to the CHP. His reasons for jumping are unknown.

A 39-year-old man who jumped out of a car on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale was fatally injured, a California Highway Patrol officer said today.

Mark Anthony Munoz of Azusa was found fatally injured in the No. 3 lane,
west of Irwindale Avenue, shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the
CHP.

Munoz was a passenger in a 2007 Toyota Yaris driven by his 62-year-old
mother when, for unknown reasons, opened the passenger door and jumped out,
according to a CHP statement.

As he hit the pavement, Munoz was struck by a 2002 Honda Accord. The
driver of that car pulled over on the shoulder and was interviewed by the CHP.
