Man Found Dead of Apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Body found in Arcadia Friday morning in the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive.

The body of a man who apparently committed suicide was found in a stairwell in Arcadia Friday morning around 9:20 a.m. according to police.

Lt. Paul Foley of the Arcadia Police Department said the man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A gun was found in the man's hand, Foley said.

Authorities don’t believe the man, who appeared to be in his 50s, was an Arcadia resident.

Police initially received a call from a passerby who spotted a lifeless body with a gun in the exterior stairwell of a two-story commercial complex in the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive.

Lt. Foley said no note was found at the scene.

The man’s identity will be released pending a coroner’s investigation.
