Man in Medical Scrubs Suspected of Home Burglary

Resident arrived home to find suspect exiting ransacked house.

A burglary suspect--described as a male Asian wearing green hospital scrubs, about 40 years old, 5' 6" with thin-build, brown hair and eyes--- struck the 2500 block of Lee Avenue Tuesday afternoon around 1:10 p.m, according to Sgt. Tom Le Veque of the .

Upon arriving home, the resident of the house that was burglarized found the suspect on the doorstep with the front door wide open, Le Veque said in a statement released on the APD’s official blog.  The suspect, speaking Korean, told the resident he was a friend of the resident’s son, police said.

The suspect walked to a car parked on the street and then drove towards Longden Avenue. Meanwhile, the resident entered the home to find it ransacked with a laptop computer and a watch among the items missing.

Police said the suspect apparently turned off power at the home circuit breakers and then forced open a rear screen, entering through a window. 

The suspect fled in a 4-door, black Nissan Maxima, according to police.
