Mystery Woman Identified

After weeks of searching, a mentally disabled woman found in Monrovia was finally identified.

The identity of a disabled woman found disoriented in a Monrovia restaurant was finally revealed Wednesday when mental hospital officials found her information in a Medi-Cal database.

The woman, identified as Tok Sun Padgett, 54, is homeless, and she's been treated in hospitals before in downtown Los Angeles, Monrovia Police Lt. Michael Lee said.

Padgett is mentally ill, and Lee said that doctors had not been able to get her to communicate her identity before she was tracked down through Medi-Cal records.

"Because of her mental condition she wouldn't talk to anybody," Lee said.

Padgett will remain at the hospital for the time being, though she could be released if doctors determine she's not a danger to herself or others, Lee said.
