Officials ID Tree Trimmer Killed In Accident

Coroners have still not determined whether Costancio Hernandez-Romero was electrocuted or fell to his death.

Authorities with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office have identified the in an industrial accident in Arcadia.

Azusa resident Constancio Hernandez-Romero, 35, died while working on a palm tree in the 1400 block of Orlando Drive near the Sierra Madre border. Police say Hernandez-Romero was electrocuted when he accidentally came into contact with an overhead power line.

An autopsy was performed Tuesday on Hernandez-Romero, but the cause of his death remains inconclusive, Coroner's Office spokesman Fred Corral said, adding that the medical examiner has more tests to complete.

According to scanner reports, witnesses reported seeing Hernandez-Romero dangling near where he may have been electrocuted. By the time paramedics arrived, the electrical current had burned through Hernandez-Romero's harness, causing him to fall about 20 feet, police said.
