Police Blotter: Dancer Punches Security Guard at Knockouts Gentleman's Club

Police say the woman caused a laceration to a bouncer's nose and then fled before officers arrived.

From the Arcadia Police Department: 

For the period of Sunday, June 16th, through Saturday, June 22nd, the Police Department responded to 917 calls for service of which 125 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, June 16:

Just after 2:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to Prince Jewelers, 411 East Huntington Drive, in regards to a sounding burglary alarm. Officers discovered unknown suspect(s) forced entry and fled with approximately $20,000 worth of gold. The suspects, described as males wearing dark colored clothing, were recorded on video surveillance. Further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.

Around 10:50 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a report of a robbery. The victim explained he was at Arcadia County Park on June 15th when an unknown male suspect physically assaulted him and stole his cell phone. The victim advised the suspect was still at the park. Officers responded to the location and arrested the 35-year-old male. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, June 17:

At approximately 11:39 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Hugo Reid School, 1153 De Anza Place, in regards to bones found at a construction site. The bones were examined by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office who determined the bones were from a cow, and not human remains. The area was inspected for additional bones, but none were found.

Just after 4:45 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a report of two small children locked inside a vehicle. After a lady secured her grandchildren in their car seats, she closed the passenger door and attempted to open her driver-side door; however, the vehicle had automatically locked itself. The officer smashed the rear window with her baton and removed the children who had been inside for approximately ten minutes. The children were removed safely and evaluated by the Arcadia Fire Department. The officer sustained minor cuts to her hand.

Tuesday, June 18:

At about 0:31 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for lane drifting on Santa Anita Avenue, at Huntington Drive. The officer discovered the driver was under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level greater than 0.08 percent. A records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 20-year-old male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 6:19 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of Genoa Street in regards to a possible fraud report. The elderly victim received a phone call from an unknown suspect who informed him that he had won a $2.5 million sweepstakes. The victim was persuaded to purchase $2,500 in prepaid gift cards and read the serial numbers to the caller as a prerequisite to claiming his prize. The victim later discovered it was a scam. 

Wednesday, June 19:

Just before 1:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a theft report. The suspect entered a fitting room, concealed items inside her purse, and exited the store without making payment. The 21-year-old female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 6:34 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a fraud report. The loss prevention agent discovered a female suspect paid for merchandise using counterfeit bills. An investigation revealed the suspect also passed counterfeit bills at other Nordstrom locations and is currently on probation for felony theft. The suspect’s identity is known and further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.

Thursday, June 20:

At about 11:13 a.m., an officer responded to Albertsons, 298 East Live Oak Avenue, in regards to a burglary report. Video surveillance revealed two suspects concealed baby formula inside an empty purse and used shopping bags. The suspects exited the store without making payment and were seen driving away in a dark colored SUV. The suspects are described as a male and female, in their mid-twenties. An investigation revealed the suspects may have also stolen from an Albertsons in the City of Irvine.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic accident at the intersection of Live Oak Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue. Party-one made an unsafe turn onto Live Oak Avenue at a high rate of speed, lost control, and collided into the center median. She subsequently struck two vehicles and injured one of the drivers. The victim was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for evaluation.

Friday, June 21:

At about 1:06 a.m., an officer responded to Knockouts Gentlemen’s Club, 1580 Clark Street, in reference to a battery report. A disgruntled night club dancer struck a security guard in the face, causing a laceration to his nose. The 24-year-old female suspect fled the location. Her identity is known.

Just after 6:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a fraud report. The suspect attempted to make a purchase with a fraudulent credit card. An investigation revealed the 33-year-old Vietnamese male suspect had two outstanding felony warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Saturday, June 22:

At approximately 1:56 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no front license plate in the area of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of alcohol emitting from the driver’s breath and person. An investigation revealed the 32-year-old White male was under the influence. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 9:42 a.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of California Street, in regards to a residential burglary report. The victim discovered unknown suspect(s) entered her garage by an unknown means and stole her vehicle. No evidence was located and no one reported seeing or hearing anything suspicious.
