Police Blotter: Women Get in Fist Fight Over 'Magic Mike' Seats

Eight women fought over front row seats to the hit movie about male strippers, "Magic Mike."

For the period of Sunday, June 24-30, the responded to 994 calls for service, 115 of which required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Suspended License

Around 2:15 a.m. on June 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a red Mustang for making an illegal u-turn on Huntington Drive, at Gateway Drive. A records check revealed the driver had a suspended license. The 21-year-old man was cited and released in the field, while and his vehicle was impounded.

Traffic Collision

At approximately 6:22 a.m. on June 24, officers were dispatched to a non-injury solo traffic collision in the area of Peck Road and Clark Street. An investigation revealed the driver lost consciousness  and veered to the right, colliding with a light pole, an electrical pole and a tree. In order to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor, the driver was transported to for blood testing. The results were unknown at the time of the report.

Attempted Residential Burglary

At about 10:28 a.m. on June 25, an officer responded to the 1700 block of Orangewood Lane regarding an attempted residential burglary that had just occurred. The victim saw an unknown man walking through her backyard and hurried to lock any unsecured areas. As she entered her daughter's bedroom, she discovered the suspect was attempting to climb through a window she left open.

The suspect saw the victim and fled toward an awaiting vehicle, described as a light green or silver four-door sedan with two female occupants. He entered the driver's seat and fled southbound on Orangewood Lane.

He is described as Hispanic, approximately 20-years-old, 5-feet-6, 140 pounds, with short brown hair and a thin mustache, wearing a black and white striped polo-shirt. Officers conducted an area check but met with negative results.

Methamphetamine Arrest

At about 11 p.m. on June 25, an officer located a vehicle with a warrant attached to the license plate, on Colorado Boulevard at Rosemead Boulevard. An investigation revealed the driver had an expired license and registration. He also was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.

One of the passengers had an outstanding felony warrant for attempted murder and a misdemeanor warrant. The 31-year-old driver and 21-year-old passenger were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Theft From H & M

At approximately 3:10 p.m. on June 26, an officer responded to at the regarding a theft report. A juvenile suspect allegedly concealed items inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without paying. The juvenile's adult cousin reportedly directed her to steal the merchandise. The 14-year-old girl and her cousin were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The juvenile was later released to her mother.

Walgreens Theft

Around 8 p.m. on June 26, officers were dispatched to at 140 East Live Oak Avenue regarding a theft report. Employees reportedly observed a woman acting suspicious as she shopped for products. Once the employees turned their backs, the suspect allegedly fled the store with a basket full of merchandise. She entered a white Hyundai sedan and headed south on Tyler Avenue. The incident was recorded on video surveillance.
   
Attempted Residential Burglary

At about 1:30 p.m. on June 27, an officer responded to the 2000 block of Winthrop Avenue regarding an attempted residential burglary report. The victim heard noise coming from her sliding door and walked toward it thinking her husband had come home from work. However, she discovered the door ajar and observed an unknown man walking towards a turquoise minivan parked in her driveway. She noticed a man the driver seat and watched the suspect enter the passenger seat. They headed east on Las Tunas Drive.

Bicycle Theft

At approximately 9:53 p.m. on June 27, officers were dispatched to the 99 Cent Store at 414 South Second Avenue regarding a theft report. Two customers noticed the bikes they had parked outside the store had gone missing. Both victims left their property unsecured and unattended.

JCPenney Theft

Shortly after 8:10 p.m. on June 28, an officer responded to at the Santa Anita Mall regarding a woman in custody on suspicion of theft. The suspect allegedly exited the store without paying for the merchandise she concealed in her purse. The 25-year-old was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Suspended License

Around 9:20 p.m. on June 28, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Baldwin Avenue at Gate 7 for a broken tail light. An investigation revealed the vehicle's driver had a suspended license and one outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 41-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking, while his vehicle was impounded.

Driver, Wanted Out of Glendora, Arrested

At about 10:49 a.m. on June 29, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of El Dorado Street and Fifth Avenue on a motorized bicycle that did not have a license plate. The officer discovered the driver was a wanted person out of the City of Glendora. The 42-year-old man was detained and transported to the Arcadia City Jail where he was later picked up by the Glendora Police Department for booking.

Fist Fight Over "Magic Mike" Seats

Around 10:27 p.m. on June 29, officers were dispatched to AMC Theater at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a battery report. A group of eight women got into a fight over front row seats for the movie "Magic Mike." An investigation revealed one subject became so upset that she punched another subject in the face numerous times. The victim was not desirous of prosecution.

Drugs, Stolen Property Reportedly Found on Passenger

Shortly after 1:05 a.m. on June 30, officers made contact with a black Mercedes sedan parked in the rear parking lot of at 130 West Santa Anita Avenue. A records check revealed the passenger had an outstanding felony warrant and was reportedly in possession of drug paraphernalia and fraudulent prescriptions. He also allegedly had stolen property, including: access cards, identification cards and checks. The 45-year-old woman was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Missing, Suicidal Woman

At about 7:27 p.m. on June 30, an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a critical missing person report. The since the evening of June 29. He explained that his daughter had a history of psychological issues and suffered from depression. The 26-year-old woman was last seen driving away in her fatherís vehicle, wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans, and sunglasses. At the time of the report, Horikawa was entered in the Missing Persons System, and local hospitals and area law enforcement were alerted.

The following day on July 1, the daughter was located at a hospital in the City of Montebello. She was placed on a 72-hour hold and removed from the Missing Persons System.
