Coroner Investigating Possible Suicide

Authorities are unsure if the man committed suicide at an area business Friday.

Police are at a dentist office investigating the death of a man at the business.

The original call to authorities was that of an attempted suicide at 11:39 a.m. in the 60 block of North First Avenue. The specific details of who discovered the male at the business and how the man died could not be released, said Lieutenant Coleen Flores, citing the ongoing investigation.

The man was discovered by someone at the business who called the police and reported the man attempted suicide.

"We're just doing a death investigation. We haven't been able to confirm if it's a suicide or not," Flores said.

Officers who arrived on scene reported the victim was not breathing and did not have a pulse, according to scanner reports.

Officers were still on scene as of 2:50 p.m. Officials from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office did not arrive on scene until mid afternoon, as their resources were occupied by another incident elsewhere, Flores said.
