Police Find 300 Marijuana Plants in Arcadia Home

Police said the residents of the home on E. Longden Avenue were nowhere to be found.

Police confiscated approximately 300 marijuana plants from an Arcadia home Thursday night, according to authorities.

Officers responded to the home in the 200 block of E. Longden Ave. at about 7:34 p.m. after receiving a call from the Pasadena Humane Society requesting help with finding the owners of dogs found loose in the area, Arcadia Police Lt. Mike Castro said. The dogs were found and secured and police tried to contact the owners of the home but no one answered, though the front door was wide open.

"The officers then entered the unsecured home to conduct a welfare check," Castro said, reading from a news release. "During the check, the officers discovered what appeared to be a marijuana grow house operation."

Police confiscated about 300 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. Detectives were in the process of identifying the home owners Friday morning, Castro said.
