Police, Firefighters Rescue Near-Drowning Victim

Man reportedly in critical condition at Arcadia Methodist.

A 63-year-old man was reportedly listed in critical condition Sunday night after nearly drowning while swimming with family.

Police and fire fighters were called just after 5 p.m. to a home in the 700 block of Hampton Road. The man was found at the bottom of the pool by family members. officers and fire fighters both went into the pool to extract the man, said Sgt. Fallavollita of Arcadia Police.

Family members had been in and out of the backyard; when they looked to the pool, they saw him underwater and midway between the shallow and deep ends, Fallavollita said.

It was not immediately known if the victim suffered from a medical problem prior to falling in.
