Police ID Burglary Suspects Caught Following High Speed Chase

The suspects were apprehended following a chase that reached more than 100 mph.

Suspected burglars who led police on a high speed chase on the 210 Freeway that reached more than 100 mph have been identified: They are 23-year-old Dominic Bertirotti of Monrovia, 23-year-old Salim Alayache of Pasadena and 18-year-old Salvador Esparza Jr. of Azusa.

All three are charged with residential burglary and felony evading a police officer.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, a resident of the 00 block of East Forest Avenue reported seeing three men exit a neighbor's home carrying electronics — including a flat-panel television — and leave in a waiting vehicle, according to .

An officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over.

But instead of yielding to the officer, the suspects got onto the eastbound 210 Freeway, sparking a high speed pursuit, said Lt. Paul Foley. The chase ended when the suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into shrubbery dotting the offramp of the Citrus Avenue exit in Azusa.
