UPDATED: More Than 2,700 Without Power in Arcadia

Strong winds have disrupted power throughout the city, according to the Arcadia Fire Department.

UPDATE, 8 a.m. on Wednesday: Edison says about 2,700 customers were left without power during yesterday's outage. Power has been restored to all customers.

UPDATE, 7:55 p.m.: Chilly winds whipping SoCal right now have caused minor outages in Arcadia Tuesday night.

There are reports of some power surges and fluctuations, specifically at the Santa Anita Mall. One of the fire stations in town has also experienced power fluctuations, according to Kevin Valentine, battalion chief of the Arcadia Fire Department.

Arcadia Police have not received calls of any significant outages, said Lieutenant Roy Nakamura.

According to information from the Southern California Edison web site, at least 99 residents are without power in the area of Palo Alto Drive and Magellan Road. Edison officials have not returned calls as to the cause of the outage yet.

PREVIOUSLY: Power surges and outages have been reported throughout Arcadia because of strong winds that continue to blow through the area, according to the Arcadia Fire Departement.

The Santa Anita Mall and The Village have reported power surges, according to the department. The Southern California Edison online outage center shows 99 customers in the city are without power.
