Updated: Missing Person Now Home

Matthew Hernandez was last seen in the Chantry Flat area on Saturday evening, and made contact with his parent at 3:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Update: An officer at the Temple Station for the Sheriff's Department has confirmed that Matthew Hernandez made contact with his parents at 3:30 a.m. Monday morning and that he is home safe.

Previously: Arcadia Police, the Sheriff's Department and the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team are among the authorities seeking the public's help trying to locate a missing 29-year-old man who was last seen in the Chantry Flat area in the Angeles National Forest on Saturday evening.

Matthew Hernandez of San Dimas was last seen wearing a green shirt, denim vest and black pants. It is possible he hitched a ride from the National Forest to his San Dimas home, but he has not been in contact with his friends or family, according to information from the Sheriff's Department. Hernandez is also described as being 5-foot-7 and 180 pounds.
