Stolen Vehicle Crashes, Kills Passenger in San Gabriel Valley

The fleeing vehicle ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle.

A vehicle that had been reported stolen was chased by Arcadia police today to Temple City, where it went through a red light and crashed, killing a passenger, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. at Lower Azusa Road and Arden Drive, according to Arcadia police Sgt. Brian Ortiz.

The passengernc, whose age and gender were not immediately released, died at the scene, according to Ortiz.

The chase began at Santa Anita Avenue and Danbury Street, when officers tried to pull over the vehicle after the license plate indicated it had been reported stolen, according to Ortiz.

The fleeing vehicle ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, Ortiz said. No other injuries were reported.
