Three People Extracted From Overturned Car at Arcadia Intersection

The injured people were transported to the hospital after firefighters extricated them from the vehicle, a fire official said.

Three people were injured Thursday in a vehicle collision and had to be extracted from the wreckage after a car overturned, a fire official said.

A car flipped near the intersection of First Avenue and Huntington Drive, Arcadia Fire Department spokeswoman Beth Stogner said. Firefighters received the call at 11:41 a.m.

The collision occurred when a SUV traveling southbound on First Avenue struck a car backing out from a driveway and flipped over, Stogner said.

Two adults were transported to a local hospital and a minor was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

Units from the Arcadia and Monrovia fire departments responded to the scene, Stogner said.
