The officers may have violated "the law and department policies," according to a statement from the Arcadia Police Department.

Two Arcadia police officers are on paid leave pending a criminal and administrative investigation.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will assist in the criminal investigation, while the police department will handle the administrative investigation, according to a statement by Capt. Larry Goodman released late Tuesday night.

The APD did not reveal the names of the officers involved or elaborate further on the nature of the investigation.
