Two Men Accused of Shooting Out Windows at Arcadia School with BB Gun

Two 18-year-olds are charged with vandalism and assault for allegedly shooting at cars and school windows.

Two men have been charged with felony counts of vandalism and assault for allegedly shooting a BB gun at a passing car and vandalizing 31 windows at an Arcadia school, according to police.

Jacob C. Moreno, 18, of Temple City, and Albert J. Lewis, 18, of Arcadia, were arrested on the night of July 8 at Longley Way Elementary School, an Arcadia Police Department news release states.

Police arrived at the school after a woman reported that her car was struck by a BB while she was traveling eastbound on Las Tunas Drive near the school.

Police found Moreno and Lewis on the campus in possession of a BB gun and ammunition, according to the release.

"The pair told officers they had been shooting at a bottle and denied aiming at the driver or car," the release states. "A bottle was found, however, evidence led officers to believe the shooting of the car was intentional."

Police said the BBs the men had were consistent with a vandalism case reported at Dana Middle School on June 26, where 31 windows were shot out. Damage caused in the incident is estimated at more than $22,000.

Bail has been set at $50,000 for each man.
