Update: Gold Line Stabbing Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

Jose Paul Vasquez Flores of Los Angeles faces an attempted murder charge after allegedly stabbing a Monrovia resident on the Metro Gold Line on Friday evening. His next court appearance is set for Sept. 15.

Jose Paul Vasquez Flores, accused of during a fight on the Metro Gold Line, pleaded not guilty on the charge of attempted murder at his arraignment Thursday morning around 11 a.m., according to officials at Pasadena Superior Court.

Flores, a 36-year-old from Los Angeles, faces a life sentence if convicted, according to officials from the District Attorney's office. He is currently in jail in lieu of $1 million bail, and is scheduled to appear in Dept. J of Pasadena Superior Court in Sept. 15.

The victim is still hospitalized.
