Update: Suspected Robbers Shot Arcadia Grocery Store Worker

The shooting occurred as the store operator was closing up, said officials.

Updated at 2 p.m. April 30:

A grocery store employee was shot in the leg after being confronted by four men in the location’s parking lot Sunday at around 8 p.m., officials announced today.

The incident occured outside of a store at 645 W. Duarte Road, according to a statement from police.

Arcadia Police stated one of the demanded money from the grocery store operator and all four men stepped toward him. The victim ran from the four alleged robbers and they subsequently opened fire, striking the victim in the left thigh, according to a statement from police.

The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The four suspects, described by police as white or Hispanic, got away without taking anything. The incident is currently under investigation, according to officials.
