The car sheared off the hydrant and also hit a tree Monday morning.

Well that's one way to beat the heat.

A car crashed into a fire hydrant and sheared it off in the 100 block of East Huntington Drive Monday morning, police said.

The driver of the vehicle apparently lost control and careened into the hydrant and then a tree at about 9:50 a.m., Arcadia Police Lt. Tom Cullen said.
