Young Hiker Rescued from Chantry Flats
Search and Rescue team enters Chantry Flats to aid injured hiker.
The Sierra Madre Search and Rescue team successfully aided an injured hiker Saturday afternoon.
The Sierra Madre team received a call around 12:30 p.m. that a 4-year-old child sustained an ankle injury while in the Winter Creek area of Chantry Flats above Arcadia, said Lieutenant Edward Godfrey of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Temple Station.
The child was extracted before 2 p.m.
The extent of the ankle injury and if the child was taken to an area hospital was not known.
