Arcadia to Unveil Lucky Baldwin Statue Tuesday

The afternoon ceremony will reveal a statue of the man who was instrumental in the development of the San Gabriel Valley.

Arcadia city officials will unveil a statue in honor of Elias "Lucky" Baldwin in a public ceremony Tuesday.

Baldwin's great-great-great granddaughters Margaux Gibson-Viera of Riverside and Heather Gibson commissioned the statue and donated it to the city, the Pasadena Star-News reports.

"Having Elias J. 'Lucky' Baldwin memorialized in the form of a statue has been a dream of mine," Viera told Patch earlier this month. "It gives me great joy and peace to know that this monument will stand for generations to come."
