Gold Line Bridge Construction Starts Next Week

Construction on the Metro Gold Line bridge that would link the proposed Arcadia Station with the Sierra Madre Villa Station in Pasadena is expected to begin next week, which triggers the start of traffic flow interference on the eastbound 210 Freeway in the coming months.

A release from the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority notes that the 584 linear-foot bridge will cross over the eastbound lanes of the 210, between Baldwin and Santa Anita Avenues. The Authority is targeting July 2012 to wrap up construction.

In the short-term, residents can expect the eastbound HOV and No. 1 lanes of the eastbound 210 to be closed off from Rosemead Boulevard to Santa Anita Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. There's also a chance that could extend to Thursday night at the same times as well.
