Metro To Host 710 Meetings

Officials say the meetings will provide residents with an opportunity to share info and contribute ideas regarding transportation alternatives being considered for the SR-710 Study.

Metro will hold two community meetings this week to discuss the environmental review process of the 710 Freeway:

  • 710 Freeway Environmental Study Meeting 6 to 8 p.m. March 1 at
  • 710 Freeway Environmental Study Meeting 10 a.m. to noon March 3 at

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will hold two community meetings titled “All Communities Convening” as part of the launch of the Alternatives Analysis phase in preparation of the SR 710 environmental review process, pursuant to the requirements of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

During the Alternative Analysis phase, Metro and Caltrans will review transportation alternatives that are being considered for the SR-710 Study. The environmental review process requires the preparation of Draft and Final environmental documents and culminating in the issuance of a Record of Decision (ROD)/Notice of Determination (NOD).

The information presented at both meetings will be identical. The meeting format will provide attendees to share community information, become familiar with the Alternative Analysis phase and contribute ideas to help Metro and Caltrans finalize the overall study’s goals and objectives. Attendees also will have an opportunity to hear about the formation of committees which will offer Metro and Caltrans advice on community-specific issues and outreach efforts for the environmental study.

The public is invited to participate in this process and help shape the future of transportation and improve mobility in the region.

The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6pm-8pm at the Ramona Hall Community Center, 4580 N. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California  90065, serviced by Metro Gold Line –Southwest Museum Station, Metro Bus Lines, 81, 83, 176 and 287, The second “All Communities Convening” meeting will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10am -12pm at the East Los Angeles Public Library, 4837 E. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, California 90022. served by Metro Gold Line, East LA Civic Center Station, Metro Bus Lines 258,260 and Metro shuttle Line 68, Montebello Bus Lines 10 and 40, and El Sol Shuttle Routes A and B.
