Meet the candidates vying to represent the 27th Congressional District, which includes Arcadia, San Marino, Glendora, Monrovia and Altadena.
Republican candidate Jack Orswell will speak at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Forum scheduled for Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. Meanwhile, Democratic candidate and current Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-El Monte) has expressed interest in attending, but not yet confirmed.
Also on the agenda for the forum is a 10-minute presentation on the proposed 710 freeway extension’s environmental study relating to the potential impact on traffic throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
City, county, and state government officials, along with the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Authority and the San Gabriel Valley Business Coalition, will also give brief updates at the forum. Representatives of the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte Town Council will also give brief updates.
The forum, held the first Thursday of each month, is free and open to the public. It takes place at the Chamber office at 388 W. Huntington.
