Police Blotter: Man Assaults Wells Fargo Parking Lot Attendant

In other crime, Arcadia Police dealt with a preteen shoplifter.

For the period of March 18-24, the responded to 947 calls for service, 105 of which required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

Sunday, March 18:

Around 3:07 p.m., an officer responded to Baldwin Avenue at La Vida Lane regarding a traffic accident. The driver of a white Lexus was distracted by his daughter in the backseat and struck two parked vehicles on Baldwin Avenue. No major injuries were reported.

At approximately 6:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to at the regarding a theft report. Two teen girls allegedly concealed merchandise inside their purses and exited the store without making payment. An investigation revealed one suspect may also have stolen from . The 17-year-old suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, March 19:

At about 6:19 a.m., officers responded to Lynol Cooling Systems at 12318 Lower Azusa Road regarding an activated alarm. The officer discovered unknown suspect(s) forced entry through the front door and stole two laptops. No one saw or heard anything suspicious.

Shortly after 1 p.m., an officer responded to at 360 Campus Drive regarding a medical assist. A fifth-grader accidently ran into a tether ball pole and suffered a large contusion above his right eye. The child was treated by the Arcadia Fire Department and transported to the . He was later released to his mother.

Tuesday, March 20:

At about 2:09 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a blue Toyota Camry for impeding traffic on Foothill Boulevard at Rancho Road. The driver explained he was driving unusually slow because he was low on gas. The officer reportedly found drug paraphernalia in the man's car. The 27-year-old suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 

At approximately 12:41 p.m., an officer responded to 1121 Altern Street regarding a residential burglary report. The victim returned home and found her front door open. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) gained access by breaking the glass pane of a rear door. Numerous items were reported stolen and no one saw or heard anything suspicious. 
   
Wednesday, March 21:

Around 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot at 1200 South Baldwin Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The driver of a black BMW became enraged after a parking attendant tapped the rear of his vehicle to alert him that he was exiting through an entrance only driveway. Officers determined the 31-year-old man exited his vehicle and kicked the parking attendant in his arm. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a black pick-up truck for expired registration at Colorado Boulevard and Fifth Avenue. The officer determined the driver also had a suspended license and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 48-year-old suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Thursday, March 22:

Shortly after 4:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud report. The victim explained she discovered unknown suspect(s) opened a credit account in her name and also made fraudulent charges on her credit card. She has no idea how her information was compromised.

At about 5:18 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria's Secret at the Santa Anita Mall in reference to two women in custody for theft. The suspects allegedly entered separate fitting rooms and concealed merchandise inside their purses. A search of their purses revealed they were in possession of burglary tools. The 19-year-old and 20-year-old suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Friday, March 23:

Around 7:36 p.m., officers responded to the at the Santa Anita Mall regarding a theft that had just occurred. A juvenile allegedly concealed a pair of Versace sunglasses inside his pants and exited the store without making payment. Witnesses said he left the mall with two men in a white BMW. The suspect is described as Hispanic or Armenian, 10- to 12-years-old, wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored pants.

At approximately 5:37 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver Intrepid for suspended registration at Second Avenue and Haven Avenue. The driver explained to the officer that his license was suspended. A records check revealed the subject also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 41-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Saturday, March 24:

At roughly 2:03 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a silver Ford Mustang for speeding on Foothill Boulevard, near Second Avenue. Upon contact with the driver, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol emitting from inside the vehicle. An investigation revealed the 34-year-old man was driving under the influence. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Shortly after 1:20 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) entered the house through a rear sliding glass door and ransacked the entire residence. The loss was unknown at the time of the report and no one saw or heard anything suspicious.
