Prepare Your Case for Arcadia's 'Ask-A-Lawyer Day'

Free legal consultations are available at the library on Saturday.

The Arcadia Chinese Association and the city of Arcadia are teaming up to host a "Ask-A-Lawyer" event at the local public library Saturday where residents can get free legal consultations from licensed attorneys.

Though the advice is free, none of the lawyers on hand will be able to accept cases themselves, according to a city news release. Financial advisers will also be available for consultation.

"Volunteer attorneys are available to meet with the public and provide them with a free brief one‐on‐one consultation on general legal questions," the release states. "They will provide a summary of legal rights and general advice on a 'walk‐up' basis and, where appropriate, will refer individuals to the proper legal or governmental organizations.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring documentation related to their case.
