Primary Election Results: What Candidates and Propositions Won

See who will move forward to try to represent Arcadia in Congress and State Assembly in November, and whether the cigarette tax and term limits ballot measures passed. Share your thoughts in the comments.

Arcadia Patch all evening Tuesday and into Wednesday morning until 100 percent of precincts had reported who voters chose to move forward in the November election for Arcadia's representatives in the state Assembly and Congress. 

The term limits ballot measure has been approved, race, staying just above or below 50 percent approval all Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning (see preliminary results below and check back for updates).

The top two vote-getters in the June 5 primary election will advance to the Nov. 6 general election regardless of party preference or whether one candidate receives a majority of votes in the primary. The election will mark the first major test of the state's "top two" primary system approved by California voters in 2010.

Prop 28: Limits on Legislators' Terms in Office — 61.4 percent YES, with 100 percent of precincts (21,985 of 21,993) fully or partially reporting as of 3:18 a.m.

Prop 29: Tax on Cigarettes for Cancer Research — 50.8 percent NO, with 100 percent of precincts (21,985 of 21,993) fully or partially reporting as of 3:18 a.m.
