Arcadia Boys' Cross Country Places 2nd in State, Advances to Nationals

The Arcadia standout Sergio Gonzales is the Division 1 champion.

Fresno, Ca — Someimes the fates are wtih you and sometimes they're not.

The Arcadia High School Boys' Cross Country team placed second in the CIF Division I State Championships on Saturday behind Trabuco Hills, who clinched the state title with 71 points.

However, the Apaches earned at berth at the National Championships. Meanwhile,  Arcadia's star senior Sergio Gonzalez won the the individual title, completing the Woodward Park course in 15:05.

"I still think our team is the best team in the state, but that's not to take anything away from Trabuco," said Coach Jim O'Brien. "They ran the race of their lives."
