Someday, you'll be able to brag that you first heard the artist's name way back when.
Arcadia resident Vivian Lu, 12, won a national holiday greeting card contest sponsored by Pier 1 Imports and UNICEF. The theme of this year's contest was “A Holiday of Hope and Joy.”
Vivian's design, which clinched the contest's Fans' Choice Award, depicts two hands holding a snow globe. Within the globe are three children holding hands.

"To me, the snow globe is a metaphor of hope, and how people can pass it along to others by being happy and cheerful," Vivian told Patch. "I chose to draw this design because I like snow globes, and thought it would fit into the theme of hope and joy."
Vivian received $500 in art supplies for her winning design.

Shewsberry, Pa. resident Atticus Silbaugh, 8, is the contest's grand prize winner. His design will be reproduced as an official UNICEF greeting card and sold through Pier 1 Imports.
