Photo Gallery: AUSD Rewards Excellence

Before its meeting Tuesday night, the Board of Education honored this year's Profiles in Excellence recepients. Arcadia Unified Superintendent Joel Shawn emceed the event which recognized 25 staff members for their exemplary work over the 2010-2011 school year.

"Selecting individuals from such a robust pool of candidates is challenging and requires that the committee identify those that consistently add value and make a difference throughout the district," Dr. Shawn wrote in the introduction to the Profiles in Excellence booklet that each attendee was given. "Those selected put forth a special effort to support our students, our community, and our staff in many ways. I know that I speak for the Board of Education when I say that we are extremely proud to recognize and honor each of these very special employees."

The 24 recipients are as follows:
