Bear Prompts Second Lockdown at Foothills Middle School
The cub wandered back into the foothills on its own.
A hungry bear cub paid the Foothills Middle School campus a visit Thursday afternoon.
The bear reportedly lunched from a trashcan shortly after 12:30 p.m. School officials placed students on a brief lockdown while officers kept a close eye on the animal, Arcadia Police Lt. Bob Anderson said.
A little after 1 p.m., the cub decided to head back to his home in the foothills and police lifted the lockdown.
This marked the second lockdown of the day at Foothills Middle. A bomb threat at a nearby Rite Aid prompted the first lockdown early Thursday morning.
