File to Run for School Board by Jan. 18

There are two open slots on the Board of Education.

Candidates interested in running for a spot on the Arcadia Unified School District school board must file papers by Jan. 18. The election is April 16.

Board of Education President Joann Steinmeier and member Janet Chew are up for re-election. If either incumbent does not file papers by Jan. 18, the filing deadline for non-incumbents will be extended to Jan. 23.

According to the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office, Chew filed papers Jan. 4, but Steinmeier has yet to do so. One other candidate, Fenton Eng, has filed papers.
