Immunization Needed For Fall School

Students from seventh to 12th grade need to show evidence of being vaccinated for Tdap before beginning classes in August, according to a release from the Arcadia Unified School District.

Defending against disease is already seen as good practice before starting school, but it's also the law.

A new state law that begins this month asks all students from grades 7 to 12 to be immunized against whooping cough (pertussis) via the Tdap vaccine, and also show evidence of that vaccination before the start of school. The vaccine also protects against tetanus and diptheria.

According to the , students must produce the yellow immunization card to the district office by August 1. Doing so leads to the access code to register for classes online.
