Photos: Shaving Heads at La Salle for Cancer

Students and faculty went bald for St. Baldrick's Day at La Salle High School, raising $6,000 for childhood cancer research.

How do you convince over 30 people to shave their heads in front of an audience?

Ask senior Kimberlyn Kelly, who managed to do just that for "St. Baldrick's Day," an event which she organized on March 22 at her high school. Kelly got over 30 students and faculty members from La Salle and St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge to volunteer to become "shavees" for the event.

The shavees aren't just tasked with going bald, they have to collect pledges and donations from friends and family for the event. The money goes toward the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research.

All of the volunteers were male except for one- Bridget Quiambo was the sole girl to shed her locks for the event. See her new 'do in the photo gallery above.

Donations from Kelly's event reached over $6,000.
