Students Flood School Board Meeting to Support Fired Cross-Country Coach

Students past and present joined parents to call on the school board to re-hire champion cross-country coach Jim O'Brien after he was let go last month.

Supporters of fired Arcadia High School cross-country coach Jim O'Brien pleaded with the school board Tuesday to reinstate him, KTLA reports.

O'Brien, who coached the cross-country team at AHS for 17 years and led the team to two national titles in 2010 and 2012, said he was dismissed for spray-painting Xs on lockers on defective school lockers so students wouldn't use them.

The board has not said whether it will consider bringing O'Brien back, according to KTLA.
