Verge Resigns as Santa Anita Head

Mark Verge was hired in March as the track's CEO.

Mark Verge has resigned his post as CEO of Santa Anita Park.

"He came to the realization that his other businesses require too much time," track spokesman Mike Willman told the Pasadena-Star News on Friday.

Verge, whom Santa Anita hired in March to turn the track's stagnant business operations around, also runs apartmentfinder.com.

According to the newspaper, several other top employees at Santa Anita who worked under Verge also turned in their resignations, including Chief Creative Officer Jimmy Dunne, who wrote the track's theme song, "My California"; Cedd Moses, the track's beverage consultant and Media consultant Damien Lewis, along with food and beverage manager Richard Davis and group events consultant Angie Davis.
