Arcadia Checks in at No. 2 in Star-News' Preseason Football Top 10

Four SGV Patch teams included in rankings sneak preview.

Nothing generates conversation quite like preseason top 10 lists, and Tuesday the Pasadena Star-News gave everyone a sneak peak with who it views as the top five teams in the West San Gabriel Valley (the full top 10 won't be available to the public until the end of August when the Star-News' PrepXtra Magazine prints).

Arcadia fans will be happy to see the Apaches ranked No. 2 behind Monrovia and ahead of St. Francis and Pacific League rival Muir in the preseason rankings.

The Apaches have a strong tandem in quarterback Myles Carr and wide receiver Taylor Lagace. Look for the running game to give Arcadia a much more balanced offense this season with Rodney Arnett anchoring the backfield. The Pacific League, and the Southeast Division, could be in for a huge surprise.

Arcadia will have plenty of chances to assert themselves in the hierarchy of the SGV as the Apaches open their season against St. Francis and Monrovia before a visit to Muir in Week 4.

With one of the best quarterback-receiver combos in the area in Carr and , there's no reason to think the Apaches can't repeat their success last year when they went 6-1 in the Pacific League.
